Page two

One page for parents, before you book

Our parent guide is one page: what to bring, who stays in the room, what the doctor does and what happens after.

Read it at the kitchen table, show it to a grandparent, or print it. It answers what parents ask us first, in the order they ask it.

  • Who stays in the room

A parent or guardian, for every child's visit.

  • What the doctor does

Talks, watches your child move, then explains before touching.

  • Who to call first

A list of signs that need a pediatrician or 911 before us.

The room

A visit starts with talking

Your child sees the room, the table and the toys before anything else happens.

Our treatment rooms are small and bright, with a step stool for little feet and a table that lowers. The doctor explains each step to your child in plain words, and to you in more of them.

At every visit

  • A parent stays for every child's visit

  • Your child can say stop at any time

  • Your doctor explains the risks and your choices first

Questions

What parents ask first

What happens at our first visit?

You and your child, or you if the visit is yours, talk with the doctor first. The doctor then does an exam suited to the age, explains what was found and what the options are, and you decide what happens next. Care starts that day only if you agree. Plan on 30 to 45 minutes for a child and 45 to 60 for an adult.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Every kind of care has risks. Serious risks from chiropractic care are rare, and your doctor explains them, and your choices, before any care begins. A child or an adult with a warning sign, such as a fever, a hard fall or sudden severe pain, goes to a physician first.

Will it hurt?

Care for children uses light contact, and your doctor tells you what comes next before it happens. Some people, children included, feel sore afterward. Your doctor adjusts the care to you or your child and stops if anyone is uncomfortable.

Can I bring my child, or come while pregnant?

Yes to both. A parent or guardian comes to every visit for a child, and expecting parents are welcome. Each life stage has its own page that says what a visit includes and what we do not claim, and the What we claim page lists it all in one place.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please call us as early as you can if you need to change a visit. Ask the front desk about our cancellation policy.
